Year 3 incursion with Professor Jellybean

On Tuesday morning, the Year 3 classes participated in a science incursion with Professor Jellybean. Each Year 3 class got to spend one full hour with Professor Jellybean where they got to explore science concepts in a hands on way.

Students first learnt how materials can be changed physically and chemically by making snowballs that never melt. Students made colourful snowballs and got their hands dirty from mixing and squishing their snowballs.

Students also learnt about the effects of light and discovered that the sun is a source of energy. They explored this concept through making glow in the dark slime and by looking through a Rainbow Peephole to separate the colours in light.

The Year 3 students had an amazing time learning about science and participating in these fun and engaging science experiments. Students loved using all of the scientific equipment and they looked like real scientists in their lab coats and safety glasses.

Just like the sun, the students were little balls of energy getting involved in the activities and being very excited with everything they learnt.

It was a fun day had by all!
