GCC has three major Sport Carnivals per year, these being:
- Swimming (Term 1)
- Cross Country (Term 1/2)
- Athletics (Term 2)
These Carnivals cater for students from Year 3 to open age groups and are run as separate Primary and Secondary Events.
The carnivals are hotly contested between the sporting houses of Ararat, Sinai and Zion. The top performing athletes are selected to compete against other Sunshine Coast athletes at District and Regional competitions. Aged 13-19 year-old students compete in the Independent District and aged 10-12 year-old students in the Glass House District. From these carnivals students may be selected to compete at Regional, State and National levels.
Prep to Year 2 students also participate in age-appropriate Cross Country, Athletics and Swimming Carnivals.
To develop skill and fitness in these major Sport Carnival areas, the College provides before school training two days a week for those students who wish to receive extra tuition and training in Swimming, Running or Athletics. These training sessions are conducted at the College Oval, the local Beerwah Swimming Pool and the Beerwah Sport Ovals.
