The Future Pathways Department Annual Careers Expo on 31 July was a great success! Year 9 to 12 students and their parents spent the evening perusing more than 25 exhibitor displays including universities, apprenticeship providers, the Defence Force, the Police Force, training organisations and employers.
Exhibitors commented on the in-depth discussions they had with our students and how eager they were to work out a pathway and have help and advice with their subject choices or assistance with information on university courses, further training and trade opportunities. I look forward to continuing those discussions and enabling further investigation throughout the coming weeks.
Year 10 students, along with their parents, start their Senior Education and Training (SET) planning for their final two years of school next week and Year 12s are busy planning for 2020, submitting university and TAFE applications, applying for jobs and apprenticeships and generally considering their options beyond graduation.
Students are welcome to call into the Future Pathways Office in the Library at any time. If it is busy we’ll always arrange a suitable time for them to return.
