This year we added a new tradition to our commemoration of Anzac Day. Students were invited to make crosses with the name of someone in their family who served in our armed forces. The crosses were placed on the lawn in front of our flagpole in front of the College.
The new tradition proved very popular with students and their parents. It was lovely to see parents taking photos of their children in the field during drop off and pick up times. An added bonus was that the tactile nature of the tradition helped the little ones more fully understand why we commemorate Anzac Day. Many were overheard telling their mum or dad, ‘It’s to remember all the soldiers”.
Lest We Forget.
