Caitlin Moore continues to climb up the state rankings and has now gained a top eight placing. Caitlin represented the Sunshine Coast at the Queensland Schools State Swimming Championships this week and swam in six individual events and also in a relay.
It was in the 100m freestyle race where Caitlin really excelled. She qualified 10th for the final with a two second personal best time so was certainly on fire. Caitlin then finished in eighth place against the top swimmers from around Queensland. The level of competition was amazingly high with very professional swimmers competing. Caitlin’s mum said she had never seen children swimming so fast!
Caitlin trains really hard at the Pelican Waters Swimming Club in Caloundra and was excited to see all her hard work paying off. Caitlin also finished 11th in the 200m Individual Medley and 13th in the 100m Backstroke, swimming a 4 second PB in both events. She gained top 20 placings in all her 50m events.
During the Christmas holidays Caitlin also swam for the Wide Bay Region at the QLD Club State Titles. Her freestyle relay team finished in second place which was fantastic.
