Writing workshops for school holidays

Local author Aleesah Darlison, illustrator Kerry Ides, and Elaine Ouston are running workshops on writing and art in the next school holidays.The benefits to students of exploring these two creative subjects helps keep them occupied during the holidays and stimulates their interest in something that can help them at school and gives them an alternative to sitting on their phones or gaming sites every day.

All presenters have Blue Cards and public liability insurance.

Option 1: Writing and Art fun workshops WRITE AND ILLUSTRATE A PICTURE BOOK.

No more bored kids!! A creative child is never bored.

 

Bring your children and teens to these workshops and help them develop their art and writing interest and skills so they are never bored.

With a diploma in Graphic Art and a Masters degree in Creative Writing, Elaine Ouston will guide the students in writing a fun text and then teach them how to illustrate the story.

For children aged 7 – 15 years. THEME FOR SPRING HOLIDAYS: FANTASY STORIES.

Thursday 21 September and Wednesday 27 September – 8:30am to 3:00pm.

 

The program is designed to keep them engaged, having fun, and learning. Cost $35 per session. Full program on the website.

Option 2: Greenleaf Press Sunny Kids Camps – Full day writing camp.

 

Enjoy a full day writing camp with one of Australia’s most popular children’s authors, Aleesah Darlison, working in a tutorial/class environment with one-on-one time throughout the day plus instructions and advice in writing.

 
Tuesday 26 September – ROAR! Animal Lovers Discovery Day: Write, Draw, Create, Explore!

Don’t let the holidays go to waste! Keep the kids occupied, centred, focused, inspired, engaged and educated with a full day writing workshop at Sunny Kids Camp. Cost $55 per session. Full program on the website.

Our presenters are also available to come to the school during term time to talk to the students about writing and art or to conduct workshops on these subjects.

Option 3: Drawing workshops with illustrator Kerry Ide. For children who love to draw or who are looking to develop their drawing skills, spend a whole day exploring the world of character design.

 

With a Diploma of Graphic Design, a Graduate Diploma of Education and a developing illustration career, Kerry will help children investigate character development through the use of movement, mood, colour and expression.
