In developing the Senior Program, Glasshouse Christian College considered a number of pathway options to make available to students. GCC wants to ensure that students are provided with the support and pathways necessary for them to successfully move from schooling into the workplace or further education.
This forms the foundation for senior studies, providing insight into prerequisites and preferences to enable students to enter these important years with confidence. Students have the opportunity to select subjects that line up with the Year 11 and 12 curriculum that they would like to study in Years 11 and 12.
Year 11 and 12
The academic pathway allows students to select from a range of Authority and Authority Registered subjects as well as providing access to subjects and courses through various universities.
Results in Authority-Registered subjects are not included in the calculation of OPs and FPs.
Our vocational pathway offers VET certificate courses in partnership with TAFE Queensland Brisbane and TAFE Queensland East Coast. The College also offers School-based Traineeships and Apprenticeships available. Our program is flexible enough to allow students the opportunity to keep their options open by doing both Academic and VET courses. We also have access to Distance Education thus broadening subject options even further.
GCC has a strong reputation as a Sunshine Coast private school with academic excellence, with higher than average OP scores year after year.
Each student is issued with a laptop computer (Apple MacBook) and you can learn more about this on our Technology page. GCC has extensive wireless network coverage which means that learning is integrated with all the digital world has to offer.
